Senior Joe Wasick (3-2, 3.45 ERA) took the ball for the Bison Thursday afternoon versus league foe Westminster. Wasick allowed 2 runs early, but cruised from there. He went 6 innings, striking out 7, while only allowing those 2 runs (1 earned). Ethan Buckner finished it off for Vista Peak, picking up his first save of the season.
Buckner, Omar Ruiz and Keaton Heyneman all tallied multiple hits, with Heyneman, Jeremiah Blackwood and Ben Spengler picked up RBIs.
With a lead off double, sophomore shortstop Omar Ruiz pushed his hitting streak to 14 games. His .386 batting average is third on the team, and leads the team in hits with 22. Up next for the Bison is Gateway, first pitch scheduled for Friday at 4:00.
