Saturday afternoon the Vista PEAK Bison Futures football team opened up their new season where they left off the last season. The Bison defeated the Rangeview Raiders convincingly 34-12 by controlling the offense and defense sides of the ball.
The Bison started the game by recovering an onside kick and drove 50 yards for the first score of the game. The offense was paced by the game MVPs Diego Aguilar and Caden Bird, two guards that created running lanes for the backs all day. Offensive touchdowns and conversions were made by Terris Griffis, Jesse Kane, JJ Silver, Chris Marquez, Dre Cooper-Jackson, and Jayden Lymon.
The Defense was led by a hard charging line and linebackers. Zeke Taylor was in the face of the Rangeview QB all day . Silas Gordan and Kyvae Stuart had some great hits in the game and were all over the field.
The Defense forced 4 turnovers with interceptions by Dre Cooper-Jackson and Micah Trice, while JJ Silver and Javion Kibble both recovered fumbles. Javion’s recovery was in the end zone for a Defensive TD. He also earned Defensive MVP for the game.
The Bison resume play on Saturday April 14 at 11:30 when they take on Hinkley at Vista PEAK.
