The Vista PEAK Bison Futures football team defeated a talented Rangeview team on Saturday by a score of 50-18, earning the top seed for the upcoming playoffs.
The Bison opened and closed the game with physical play that gave the Raider offense and defense fits. The opening drive was capped off by a touchdown catch by Charles Brown delivered by Naamon Owens. On Rangeview’s 1st play from scrimmage, heavy pressure on the quarterback caused him to throw an interception to Angel Rodriguez. 2 plays later, the Bison scored on a 35 yard run by Ja’Derris Carr-Kersh lead by huge blocks from Ethan Fitzgerald and Montral Hamrick.
Other scores came on tough runs by Jaxson Hurd, Montral Hamrick and Tyler Jones. CJ Kibble was able to connect with Dylan Jackson twice on beautiful passes as well.
The punt return team also tallied a score as they tackled the Rangeview punter in the end zone for a safety.
